A piano accompanist will be provided (please provide sheet music).
A CD player can also be available.
For those who plan to audition for a Principle role:
Principal role auditions will be held in a "closed audition" format (you will be brought in one at a time). You should come to auditions with two prepared solos of contrasting styles. Each song should be approximately one minute in length. The styles may contrast in tempo/speed, tonality, genre, etc. For example, the traditional Irish tune "Danny Boy" would contrast with George Gershwin's "I've Got Rhythm." However, "Danny Boy" would NOT contrast with The Secret Garden's "You Raise Me Up" since they are similar in tempo, tonality, and feel.
There will be a short, 4-measure sight reading portion. You will be given the starting pitch and the tempo. During this portion, we are listening for rhythmic accuracy and pitch/interval accuracy.
For those who plan to audition for an Ensemble role:
Everyone auditioning for an Ensemble role will sing together as a group, so you are not required to bring a prepared solo. As a group, those auditioning for Ensemble will sing the Irish folk song "Danny Boy". To prepare for this, you can download the "Danny Boy" sheet music here. (Since this piece is in the public domain, it is available free of charge). We recommend the key of F for high voices (Soprano/Tenor) and the Key of C for low voices (Alto/Bass); however, you should choose whichever key best fits your vocal range.
The epic struggle between good and evil comes to life on stage in the musical phenomenon, Jekyll & Hyde. Based on the classic story by Robert Louis Stevenson and featuring a thrilling score of pop rock hits from multi Grammy and Tony nominated Frank Wildhorn and double Oscar and Grammy winning Leslie Bricusse, Jekyll & Hyde has mesmerized audiences the world over.
An evocative tale of two men: one, a doctor, passionate and romantic; the other, a terrifying madman and two women: one, beautiful and trusting; the other, beautiful and trusting only herself. Both women in love with the same man and both unaware of his dark secret. A devoted man of science, Dr. Henry Jekyll is driven to find a chemical breakthrough that can solve some of mankind's most challenging medical dilemmas. Rebuffed by the powers that be, he decides to make himself the subject of his own experimental treatments, accidentally unleashing his inner demons along with the man that the world would come to know as Mr. Hyde.
